ADVANTAGES OF EBOOKS
A library away from home - you can browse many ebooks and it is FREE
Enables you to highlight and define words you don’t know
Convenient to use, especially whilst libraries are closed
You can listen to books too, if you would rather this than reading a book yourself
You may need to wait for a book at times, if books are popular, but there is a large selection of books to choose from
You can search and put books on hold so you can read them once you have finished the book you are currently reading
HOW TO READ AN EBOOK
Purchase a Kindle or other ebook readers, ideally with Internet connection, or use your Smart phone, ipad tablet / device or Chromebook. I would say a phone screen might cause eye strain, as the screen is small.
Get a library card from your local library - If under 16 you need your parents signature. This is free. A temporary account will be issued, you will eventually have to verify your address in person. For Buckinghamshire libraries click here…. https://buckinghamshire.spydus.co.uk/cgi-bin/spydus.exe/MSGTRN/WPAC/JOIN
Browse, borrow and read ebooks and audiobooks from your local public library for free by downloading the Overdrive Libby app https://www.overdrive.com/apps/libby/
Link your Overdrive account to your Kindle account on your kindle
You will need an email address for notifications
OTHER OPTIONS
Another option is to download Audible - but you have to pay for this App
Or I buy e-books direct from Amazon for the Kindle, this is cheaper than buying paperbacks
