At The Buckingham School, we take you beyond the classroom, offering support to explore your abilities, foster personal growth, develop new skills and talents, promote social interaction, and provide opportunities for leadership and self-expression.

The Duke of Edinburgh’s Awards encourages young people to engage in life-changing experiences, set personal goals, and challenge themselves.

I chose to take the Duke of Edinburgh Award, as it was an accessible programme, and I know the teachers running it. I also had my friends doing it, and we had the opportunity to share amazing experiences together and have fun.

The Duke of Edinburgh Award works perfectly in line with The Buckingham School’s Virtues – it aims at supporting students to develop resilience, confidence, respect, empathy, integrity, and working together as a team.

The DofE journey helped me refine my skills such as decision-making. It allowed me to do new experiences I have never done before and outside my comfort zone, which will help me stand out.

To help you complete the expedition, we work with the School of Outdoors to help you create a memorable outdoor experience.
