Academic Support

Our Sixth Form is dedicated to offering extensive academic support, making sure that every student has the tools and resources they need to succeed.

  • Weekly Planners: This helps students organise their assignments, manage their time effectively, and set achievable goals. These planners are an essential part of fostering a disciplined approach to academic and life skills.
  • 1-2-1 mentor meetings: These sessions allow students to receive tailored guidance and support from their Form Tutors who are committed to helping them navigate their academic journey. These meetings are invaluable for students seeking advice on improving study habits, understanding subject material, or planning their future educational and career paths.
  • Independent Study:  We emphasise the importance of independent study, encouraging students to take initiative in their learning. This enables students to develop critical thinking skills and a sense of responsibility for their own education as well as working collaboratively with peers to support their learning.
  • Silent Study:  There is a Sixth Form Study room providing a quiet environment where students can focus on their work without any distractions.
  • Assessment Hour: Sixth Form students are offered a dedicated time for students to evaluate their understanding and progress in various subjects through application to exam questions and coursework. This structured assessment helps students identify areas of strength and areas needing improvement, allowing them to address challenges proactively.
  • Seneca: The Buckingham School uses Seneca, an online learning platform that provides interactive resources and quizzes across a wide range of subjects. Seneca's engaging format and adaptive learning technology make it an effective tool for reinforcing Sixth Form learning and preparing for exams.
