Development Opportunities

As part of our Sixth Form, we provide a range of development opportunities designed to enhance personal growth, leadership skills, and academic potential.

  • Student Senior Leadership Team:  Empowers students with leadership roles in organising events and fostering school culture.
  • School Council:  Enables students to shape their school environment by voicing opinions and suggesting changes.
  • Rotarian Interviews:  This unique opportunity provides students with the chance to engage with local Rotary Club members. Through interviews and discussions, students can gain valuable insights into various career paths and community service initiatives.
  • Work Experience:  We offer a structured work experience program for all at the end of Year 12  that enables students to explore potential career interests. This experience is invaluable for building skills and understanding workplace dynamics.
  • Grow Your Ambition Programme: Inspires students to set ambitious goals through workshops and mentoring at a residential visit where team building and life-skills are developed.
  • Elevate: Offers workshops to improve study skills, time management, and exam preparation including support for families too.
  • Development Time: This dedicated time slot allows students to focus on personal and academic growth – it is an opportunity for meaningful progress through involvement in extra-curricular and leadership activities.
  • Duke of Edinburgh: Challenges students in leadership, fitness, volunteering, and exploration, offering recognition for achievements.
  • Nuffield Projects: For students interested in scientific research, the Nuffield Projects offer an incredible opportunity to work alongside professional scientists and academics. Participants can undertake real research projects, gaining invaluable experience and insight into the world of science.
  • Green Schools Challenge: Our commitment to sustainability is demonstrated through the Green Schools Challenge. Students collaborate on initiatives to promote environmental awareness and implement eco-friendly practices within the school community.

The combination of enrichment and pastoral programmes ensures we develop well-rounded, successful, diverse and talented people. This is our commitment to setting you apart from just good learners.
